Angel “Suddenly an angel appeared to the shepherds and told them that the Savior had been born in Bethelhem”
Think about what you would do if an Angel appeared in front of you. Would you be afraid? What if the Angel told you something great was around the corner. Would you believe it? This has happened. An Angel of God came to lowly shepherds, and told them that Jesus Christ, Son of God; Our Savior had been born in a city close to them: Bethlehem. They started traveling as soon as they heard the news, so they could go worship the baby.
We need to be ready to hear from God. It might not be through an angel in the sky, but God still does speak to us. When God speaks we need to listen. God gives encouragement and directions for our lives through his word. Reading the Bible and following God’s plan for our life helps us grow in our relationship with Him. In a world where evil is all around us, isn’t nice to know that our loving father speaks to us and comforts us. Hopefully we can be like the shepherds and go spread the good news of Christ.
Dear God, Thank you for still speaking to us today. Your words can and should bring peace and comfort in our lives. Please help us be unafraid of all evil, and help us truly believe in the ultimate Christmas gift you gave us. Amen.

At the same time shepherds were out in the field watching their sheep.
God is our good shepherd. He knows everyone and calls them by their name. Unlike shepherds here on earth, he knows the best plan for all of his sheep, which are us humans. If one is lost, he does not forget about that one, he will do anything to find it and keep it safe. That tells us that he is the good shepherd and that we are his sheep.
Even when we are lost in the darkest place, God will light our path and lead us to safety. We can be confident in everything we do because we know that God will always be right next to us keeping us close to Him. Proverbs 1:33 tells us: “But whoever listens to me will dwell safety, and will be secure, without fear of evil.” This is proof from the Bible that God will always brighten our path for the rest of our lives.
Prayer: Dear God, Thank you being my good shepherd. Thank you for always taking care of me and keeping me safe. Amen.

During the night Mary’s baby boy was born, and she wrapped him in baby clothes and used a manger for his bed.
Bible Verse: Luke:6-7 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
The day we call Christmas, is also the day Jesus was born. The day that we have the joy of getting presents and spending time with family, celebrates how Christ received gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. As we celebrate this holiday season, we should not just focus on material things such as the tree we put up and decorate or the food we get to eat, but the time that we share looking back on the night Jesus was born. God loved us so much that even though we sin every day He sent His son into this world to forgive our sins. So during this season when we anticipate opening presents on Christmas morning, spending time with our family, and playing in the snow, we need to remember that we wouldn’t be able to have all the fun of Christmas without God sending His only son, Jesus Christ.
Dear God, Thank you for sending your only son, Jesus. Please help us to remember your love throughout this Christmas season. Please help us to enjoy this time with our family and also remember that this is Jesus’ birthday. Thank you for blessing us with the gifts that we will receive this Christmas, and please help us to show love to all people this Christmas season.
Amen

When they arrived at Bethlehem there was no more room in the inn, so they found a clean stable where they could sleep because they were very tired. After a long journey they finally found rest in a stable with many animals such as sheep, near by.
Among the animals and in the lowliest conditions, our Savior was born.
It was not at all what we would expect for our Lord’s birth. Most of the events that happened that night were unexpected.
God’s plans sometimes take shape in ways we could never have imagined. We never know how He is going to work the good He has planned for our lives. Our prayer should be that we are open to seeing how God is working in our lives. It may be a stranger, a family member or some bad event that ends up helping in some way. We can take comfort that God's plans, no matter how they come to pass, are always meant for our good. God promises that in Jeremiah 29 verse eleven: "For I know the plans I have for you, delcares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." (NIV)
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your son, Jesus. Help us to always remember his birth as an example of your great plans. Open our eyes to your will for our lives. Help us to see how you are working in our lives, and who you may be working through. In Jesus’s name we pray. Amen.

Today's Symbol - MARY
They traveled for several days, Mary riding on a donkey and Joseph walking beside her.
We begin in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
The Virgin Mary was pregnant with the Savior of the world. Mary and her husband, Joseph, traveled for many days on a donkey to the town of Bethlehem. There was no room for them to stay anywhere. So Mary had to give birth to Jesus Christ in a stable. She took him, wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger. Little did they know that the child lying in front of them was going to be the Savior of the world.
God’s plans for us are always meant for good. Mary and Joseph might have had a hard time seeing the good that was going to come from their long journey. We don’t always understand why things happen but we can be sure that in the end, God is going to work it out for good.
Please pray with me. Dear Lord, thank you for sending your son to this world. Thank you for setting an example for us by humbling yourself. Please give us the strength to trust your plans and serve others this Christmas season. Amen.

Six pointed Star – Several months later Mary and Joseph had to go to Bethlehem to be counted for tax purposes.
God planned for Mary to conceive a child and that child was Jesus. Jesus was both true man and true God. He was perfect. Jesus grew up living a normal life; however the difference between him and others was that he was perfect. God sent Jesus on this earth to die for the sins of you and me. He daily guides and protects everyone from the power of sin, death and the devil. It is our job to show and tell others of this wonderful news and to spread it.
Prayer: Thank you God for sending Jesus to save all of us sinners. If it wasn’t for the power of God, we would not be here right now. Help us to serve others in a Christian manner and spread the good news of Christ Jesus. Amen.

Joseph
How would you feel if God sent an angel to you? Mary, Jesus’s mother, was very happy. God told her that she was going to have a son, and his name should be Jesus. Mary was very happy and told Joseph, the man she was going to marry, about the angel from God coming to here. They trusted that God would provide everything for them, and he did. They made it to Bethlehem, and God had a stable for them. He provided a manger for Jesus to sleep in, and food for them to eat. He then put a star above the stable, and people came to worship at Jesus’s feet. God will provide everything we need for us and will continue to provide for us until we don’t need anything anymore. He loves us and will guide us through all of our problems.
Dear God, thank you for giving me everything I need, and for loving me. In your name I pray, Amen.
